An Important Message
An
officer from the British Transport Police came to remind
us all about the dangers of railways and trains during a
special assembly.
He
told us about the terrible accidents that can happen when
people break the rail safety code.
Remember
to stay off the tracks! |

SCHOOL

Children
couldn’t believe their luck when the boiler broke and
they had an extra day off school because it was too cold
to learn. Of course Year 6 did lots of SATs revision! |

Football
Crazy!

PYJAMA DAY
On
February 14th a group of Year 6 girls
organised Victoria Road first ever wear your pyjamas to
school day!
Children
throughout school supported this event by wearing their
nightwear. Every imaginable colour of pyjamas was worn and
some very funny slippers walked the corridors!
The
teachers too looked funny in their pyjamas with Mrs Symes
winning a prize for her valentine day themed outfit. A
little bird told us she even drove all the way to school
like it and nearly ran out of petrol because she didn’t
want anyone to see her at the petrol station.
This
event raised a fantastic £80, which has been spent on
outdoor play equipment for all children to enjoy at
playtimes.

News
from each Classroom
We
asked children from each class what they have been
learning about this term. Here is what they told us about
. . .
Reception
– A little bug explorer from this class told us he had
been learning about snails.
Year
1
and 2 have been very busy weaving. We saw some of
their handy work in assembly.
Year
3 – a member of this class told us they have
enjoyed learning to measure things.
Year
4 – the
dream team! Some children from this class have enjoyed
sharing their dreams with others. Rumour has it a giant
dream tree has grown in their room!
Year
5 have been busy little bakers!
Yes they were responsible for the lovely smell of
fresh baked bread that made us all feel hungry!
Year 6
– This is the class of extremely busy bees! Everyone is
working hard ready for the SATs in May. Breaking away from
the practice papers the children designed and produced
Maths Trails for younger friends to try out.

Wacky
Hair Day
In aid of Comic Relief children
and staff turned up with some very crazy hairstyles. A fun day
was had by all.
Non-Uniform
Day
The success of the outdoor play
equipment led to another fundraising event. Children made
donations to come to school without their uniform. Lots more
great things have been bought to keep us busy at playtime.
